Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

In short: This website uses no cookies of its own, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. Fonts are hosted on our own server. Personal data is only processed to deliver this website, to answer your e-mails and to sell and activate TorqueForge licenses.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

EMLabs Felix Burkard
Owner: Felix Burkard
Zollbergstraße 67
73734 Esslingen am Neckar, Germany
E-mail: info@em-labs.dev

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer.

2. Hosting and server log data

This website and the trial download are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). When you visit the website, your browser automatically transmits technical data that Cloudflare processes on our behalf:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • requested page or file and the amount of data transferred
  • referrer URL (the page you came from)
  • browser type and version, operating system

This data is required to deliver the website securely, to defend against attacks and to keep the service stable. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. We do not merge this data with other data sources. To protect against attacks, Cloudflare may set technically necessary security cookies; these are not used for tracking (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Cloudflare (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; on this basis, an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR). Further information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

3. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are stored on our own server. No connection to Google or any other font provider is established when you visit the website.

4. Contact by e-mail

If you contact us by e-mail, we process your e-mail address, your name (if given) and the content of your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract or its preparation, and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR otherwise; our legitimate interest is answering your enquiry. We delete the data when your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.

Our e-mails are hosted by [e-mail provider, name and address], who processes them on our behalf under a data processing agreement.

5. Purchase and trial via Lemon Squeezy

When you start a trial or buy a license, you are taken to a checkout page operated by Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC, formerly Lemon Squeezy LLC), USA (“Lemon Squeezy”). Lemon Squeezy is our reseller (merchant of record): it sells the license to you in its own name, processes the payment, issues the invoice and handles VAT. For this purpose, Lemon Squeezy processes your data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

To deliver the license and provide support, we receive the following data from Lemon Squeezy: your name, e-mail address, country, company name and VAT ID (if given), the product ordered, order date, amount and your license key. We do not receive your payment details. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of the contract) and Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR (statutory retention obligations under tax and commercial law). We store order data for as long as the license is active and thereafter for the statutory retention periods of up to 10 years (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB).

If we send you e-mails about your license (e.g. the end of your trial or renewal), this is part of the contract. We will only send you newsletters or marketing e-mails if you have expressly consented to this.

6. License activation in the software

When you enter a license key in TorqueForge, the software contacts the license server of Lemon Squeezy to activate and periodically validate the license. The following data is transmitted: the license key, an identifier of the activation generated by the software, and – technically unavoidable – your IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR; the check is required to provide the license you have acquired.

TorqueForge does not transmit any other data. In particular, your machine designs, project files and simulation results never leave your computer.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • right to withdraw any consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

To exercise your rights, an informal e-mail to the address given in section 1 is sufficient. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority responsible for us: Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

8. Encryption

This website uses TLS encryption (HTTPS) to protect the transmission of data.

9. No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

10. Changes

We may update this privacy policy when our website, our software or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
