Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 October 2026

1. Scope

These terms apply to the trial and the licenses of the TorqueForge software offered on this website by EMLabs Felix Burkard, Zollbergstraße 67, 73734 Esslingen am Neckar, Germany (“we”, “us”). The use of the software itself is governed by the End User License Agreement (EULA), which is part of these terms.

2. Purchase through Lemon Squeezy

All orders are processed by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC, formerly Lemon Squeezy LLC; “Lemon Squeezy”), which acts as the merchant of record. The purchase contract is concluded with Lemon Squeezy under its buyer terms. Lemon Squeezy processes the payment, issues the invoice and charges VAT where applicable. The license to use the software is granted by us under the EULA.

Prices on this website include VAT. The final price, with the VAT that applies in your country, is shown at checkout before you pay.

3. Trial

  • The trial is free of charge and runs for 14 days from activation of the trial key.
  • It includes the features listed on the pricing section and may only be used for evaluation.
  • One trial per person and organisation.
  • The trial ends automatically. It does not convert into a paid license, and no payment details are required.

4. Licenses

4.1 Academic license

The Academic license is available to students, researchers and teaching staff at universities and public research institutes for non-commercial research, theses and teaching. Projects funded by or carried out for industry require a Commercial license. We may ask for reasonable proof of eligibility (e.g. a university e-mail address or student ID).

4.2 Commercial license

The Commercial license permits the use of the software and its results for commercial purposes.

4.3 Scope, term and renewal

  • Each license is valid for one named user. The number of computers on which a license key can be activated at the same time is stated at checkout.
  • Licenses run for one year and renew automatically for a further year unless cancelled before the end of the current term. You can cancel at any time in the Lemon Squeezy customer portal or by e-mail to us.
  • If you are a consumer, after the first automatic renewal you may terminate the license at any time with one month's notice.
  • All updates released during the license term are included.

5. Delivery

After the order, you receive your license key and the download link by e-mail. The software is activated by entering the license key. TorqueForge requires Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and FEMM 5, which is installed unmodified as a separate program under its own license (see the EULA, section 6).

6. Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. As Lemon Squeezy is the seller, the withdrawal policy of Lemon Squeezy applies and is shown at checkout. For digital content, the right of withdrawal expires once delivery has begun, provided you have expressly agreed to this and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (§ 356 (5) BGB).

7. Refunds

As you can test TorqueForge free of charge for 14 days before buying, paid licenses are non-refundable, except where required by law (in particular the statutory right of withdrawal and warranty rights).

Where a refund is due, it is processed by Lemon Squeezy to the original payment method.

8. Support

Support is provided by e-mail to info@em-labs.dev on working days. Response times depend on the license type (Academic: e-mail support, Commercial: priority support).

9. Warranty and liability

Warranty and liability are governed by sections 4, 5 and 7 of the EULA. TorqueForge is an engineering tool based on numerical models; you are responsible for checking the plausibility of all results before relying on them.

10. Final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumers, this choice of law does not deprive them of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
